Garden of Eden

Day 12, Month 2, Year 6126

Created by

A bustling city center filled with gleaming shops and skyscrapers that literally kiss the clouds. While the city looks beautiful and inviting to the naked eye there is turmoil bubbling beneath the surface. The Elite have taken over running the city. They rose to power after the fall of Eden's original government system, which had become corrupt, causing unrest and distrust within itself. Those who were not corrupt fought hard to make things right for their people, but they were soon outnumbered and then one by one picked off by hit-men hired by other government officials. Once all the do-gooders were taken out the last of the corrupt officials were left to tear each other apart for their piece of power, which they did in record speed. Without the government watching it's people, Eden descended into a city of ruin, with looting and riots constantly raging on. That's when The Elite took their chance.   Who are The Elite? Those who had made names for themselves outside of the government. The wealthiest families in Eden, who also controlled most if not all of the local businesses, came together to control the city while it slowly descended into chaos. Their solution to clean up the crime and muck left over by the wake of it's government? Adam's Agents. Artificial Intelligence bots were created to control the city, in place of what would have been the police force. These bots roamed the streets freely, always on high alert for even the smallest bit of unrest. Not only were The Elite militant in their watch over the city, they exiled all those they deemed unworthy to the outskirts and erected a wall around the city center. The only way in and out of the city is through designated checkpoints that are heavily guarded by Adam's Agents. All those that were allowed to stay within the walls were put through testing to find their ideal occupation and assigned a new title. This got the economy inside Eden's walls back to where it was before the government fell, but put a sour taste in some residents' mouths.   In the outskirts, now dubbed Outer Eden, the poor and downtrodden were cast out. A stark difference from inside the city walls, once you step into Outer Eden the shiny buildings and greenery all disappear and are replaced by dirty, rundown shacks and storefronts. The only good thing about being in Outer Eden is you escape the cast system and are free to work as you please, but it was significantly harder to maintain a suitable lifestyle. With less resources to go around it isn't uncommon for fights to break out or looting to happen, making life in Outer Eden dangerous even in broad daylight. Not only do you have to watch your back for thieves, there are still Adam's Agents patrolling the streets, though less frequently than in the city center. The biggest downfall is that agents outside the city walls are allowed to use lethal force when necessary, unlike when they are inside Eden. Though The Elite think they have successfully controlled the populous and are restoring Eden to glory, their disregard for those who are less fortunate than them has caused a rift. There are whispers and rumors circulating about a rebellion forming with the intent to overthrow The Elite and liberate those in Outer Eden from destitution. Those rumors are slowly being backed up by the slow disappearance of Adam's Agents in Outer Eden. Someone's definitely been putting them out of commission.   Will you be part of the Rebellion or aid The Elite?
