Summer Camp Pledge 2022

A drop of water holds infinity

Goal: Write every single day, at least something small, Silver or Gold 16-24 prompts.   Motivation: Feel it like before, don't think about good or bad, just remember how much you loved writing, let everything else just be details.   Challenge Goal: Make Diamonds, (31) they don't have to be good but they have to be yours. Don't let numbers stop you. If you're going to go hard take every opportunity to write no matter how small.   Themes:   Expanse  Lyceum, the expanse of the city, its tunnels, its streets, make a map of where things take place figure out its quirks, dive into its cliffs and crannies.    Leadership Alexis, who is he, what does he want, the Emperor is here, but how does he lead his Empire. Make decisions on the relationships of power and persuasion between characters, whose really in control and who's pretending?   Discovery Mandor is beautiful and complex and discovering her mysteries has never been more dangerous than now. What does Libe see when he walks into the largest city in the world. What secrets does he find and what will they mean for the fate of his own country.   Monstrous "All monsters are human." -AHS  The only villain is the the we don't understand, deep dive into the villainous side of each character find their flaws, find those things they try to hide and shine a light on the worst part, the part that let's them think their actions make them the hero of the story.       Don't think deep, don't think hard, everything you need is already there if you just reach for it. Writing is an outlet,  where the wide expanse can go on forever, let yourself roam it. Don't be bothered by where characters lead or how they get around what you want to write. Discover your world like its brand new, don't let past ideas crowd what could be because it's still growing, learning, and changing. Let your worse qualities inform you, the monsters in your head. Don't let them stop you. Procrastination, depression, anxiety, fear of falling short, nothing is perfect, our flaws should inform us, we should try for better but never expect perfection. A story is written one word at a time. Not everything needs to be known and not everything needs to be explored but that doesn't mean you shouldn't. Remember writing is something you love. Don't let anything take that away from you.   And they said short paragraph, the setting I think is attached and the paragraph is self explanatory like a pep talk to remember. Write in new places, near water, outside, in strange spots you've never sat in.   Remember the only person you need to write for is you.
