The Fall of the World Breaker

It is unknown where The World Breaker came from or why it was set on a course to collide with Galiyon in the celestial realm but every culture has records of the event, so destructive was its fall. From it's first sighting in the 502nd year as an odd mark in the sky the populace soon realised that week by week and month by month it was growing. Sages predicted that it was a source of terrible destruction though many rulers largely ignored these warnings in the beginning, a fact that would lead to wide-spread famine and death due to their lack of perspective.   In the final week before the asteroid impacted it is said that day and night became almost indistinguishable, such was the size of the approaching comet and wide-spread panic gripped several nations. By this time it was clear that the comet would fall in the North-West corner of Galiyon and the riots and panic spread like wild-fire in the lands of Ascodel, Bregarth, Hellikan and Excediore.

Manifestation

The titanic comet known as "The World-Breaker" fell on the world of Galiyon in the 503rd year during the Age of Rising. Thousands of miles wide, it blotted out the sun when it cast its shadow across the world. Eye witness accounts of the time say that it could be seen from every corner of Galiyon as it appeared in the skies, though it was the people of Ascodel that the celestial behemoth was heading for.

Localization

The World-Breaker fell in the middle of the 503rd year and the destruction it wrought was unparalleled. The comet fell in the middle of the Ocean of Zathys and caused a Tsunami that hit the Northern shore of Bregarth, the Western shore of Hellikan and Excediore and, most powerfully, the Southern shores of Ascodel. Towns and Cities on these coats were engulfed in waves over 100 ft high and many thousands died in the initial impact. The most lasting impact of the World-Breaker can be seen in the formation of the Cursed Isles. Once home to a thriving collection of settlements and peoples, after the waves passed only ruin and death were present on the islands
