Personal history
Tala Draeis was born in Chatakino to a Chatari mother and a Kitadori father. Most of her life, however, was spent in the Mataga and Kitado regions, where her father was transferred as a Peacekeeper for the Drakari-Ta.
As she grew up, Tala was exposed to the various Drakari cultures throughout Iraka and became familiar with the teachings of the dead goddess Nika-ta, the beliefs of the Natural Civilization, and the culture of war of the Kitadori people, all while being taught her loyalty to the Drakari God-King.
Upon coming of age, Tala followed in her father's footsteps and took the oath to become a Peacekeeper. As he was retiring around the same time, she took his place serving in the Mataga and Kitado regions, working with other peacekeepers to ensure the Drakari-Ta Vikato was upheld and Drakari people in need were seen to. She rose through the ranks quickly, up until the breaking out of the Drakari Civil War.
At the start of the war, Tala was traveling back to Kitado after helping capture members of the Takri Separatists that had attacked storage facilities in Matagano. Shortly afterwards, as open war broke out across the mainland, Tala was called to the Drakari-Ta's palace and asked to serve the highest honor in the Peacekeepers - Though one that now also became one of the most dangerous jobs: Protecting the Drakari-Ta himself.
For the duration of the Civil War, Tala became a seasoned veteran of combat and protection and the leader of the God-King's small team of bodyguards. She and her compatriots were responsible for the death's of many would-be assassins and helped fend off Matari advances on the capital. Many believe that if not for Tala and the Drakari-Ta's guard, the war may have ended shortly after it began.
However, during the final battle, Tala was caught off guard by a sudden orbital bombardment striking the palace. She and one of her compatriots were outside at the time, keeping watch on the main street when the palace behind her was hit. The explosion killed the Drakari-Ta and most of her team, and flung herself and her comrade into the street beneath rubble and debris.
Tala and her companion were rescued by members of the Unaligned Medical Relief Corps, whom had been in the city providing aide to citizens affected by the war. Herself, and a small number of other wounded loyalist refugees, were taken from Iraka and back into Terran space. Only herself and two others survived their wounds.
With her identity known throughout the Drakari Union as the leader of the loyalist guard, she is wanted to be made an example of by the newly reformed government. However, to those pockets of loyalists still fighting, she is seen as a symbol and rallying point, even if she has never returned to the Drakari System.
Now, she lives as a drifter in Varkesh territory, primarily around the Democratic Republic of Terra. She advertises herself as a bodyguard for hire, works on various ships, stations, and facilities as security, and never stays in one place longer than a couple of years. Her current employment is aboard a Terran research station on a recently colonized planet known as Virgo, serving primarily as a security guard, but also recently serving as a source of knowledge on Drakari history and culture.
