Radon Station is an Ekho Intelligence Forces space station set in a geo-synchronous orbit around the planet Zavos IV. This station, alongside its planet-side counterpart ASF Argon, operates as one of Ekho's forward outposts designated 'Listening Post Radon'. Radon also houses a large civilian sector acting as its own federal municipality and city in the system. The station serves as a common point of contact between Arshanov Federation and Republic of Sion officials in the jointly-colonized Zavos System and around the Tri-Border Region. The station is divided into two main sectors: The military sector known as ACF Radon, and the larger civilian sector called Radon City.

Demographics

Radon City houses mixed demographics, made up of a majority of Arshans of varying origins. Sionians, primarily from Katar and Sion, also make up a sizeable portion of the station's civilian population. The station's population can also be divided between active-duty military personnel and civilian personnel, including Arshan 'civilians' whom are not active duty and instead provide other services to the federation. While not a significant number, there are a handful of known citizens who recently travelled from the other Sionian member states, most notably including Sol-Lassi and Meric. These persons tend to be held to a higher level of scrutiny by security personnel due to their home regions' known conflict with Arshan integration with the Republic.

Government

Military

First and foremost, ACF Radon exists as a forward military station under the control of Ekho Intelligence Forces. The station is captained by SMJ. Colin Quincy. Selma reports to the listening post's operational commander, COL. Selma Stojanović, whom typically manages the entire system from his office on the Radon. A Sion Intelligence detachment also works with the Radon's military sector, led by Sionian intelligence officer Muiredach Mathieson. This results in the ACF Radon housing three separate command groups, alongside the entire military force assigned to operate and man the station, and the civilians residing within the civilian district.

Civilian

Like most Federation outposts, Radon doesn't just operate as a military base but also as a federal city. A large-scale civilian sector operates as its own municipality within Radon and includes both Arshan and Sionian citizens. This civilian sector is, on paper, governed by the station's captain, Selma Stojanović. In practice, however, a sub department of the Radon command group has been assigned as the Civilian department to oversee operations. This effectively leaves LT. Maria Moon and her staff as the governing face of Radon City.

Infrastructure

A more recently built station, Radon consists of primarily Arshan designs in its construction. Hard angles, dark colors with bright accents, and polygonal shapes are the aesthetic of choice for the station, much like most other Arshan designs. Functionally, the station is equipped with hanger bays, docking ports, and the standard array of defensive and offensive systems - Torpedo bays, missile and gun turrets, flak cannons, etcetra. Radon is often jokingly referred to as 'The most well protected city in all of Katar' by Sionians.

Districts

The interior of the station is built with a clear divide between the military and civilian sector. What effectively serves as a dividing wall exists in the form of a large bulhead separating the ACF Radon in the core of the station from Radon City around it, with only a handful of access points, each carefully guarded by Blueshield personnel. This core military section extends from the base to the top of the station, providing access to a limited number of airlocks and docking ports, as well as a pair of hanger bays on either side.

ACF Radon

The military sector, known as the ACF Radon, serves as the point of command and operations for the wider Listening Post Radon. As such, it is equipped with all of the standard federal military systems. Fully staffed engineering, medical, security, logistical, and service divisions man their respective departments, with divisional offices found on every deck of the station. The command division can be located in the center of the military sector, shielded by heavy bulkheads and the many corridors and decks around it. Several of the docking ports and two of the hanger bays connect directly to the military sector as well, with no direct link to Radon City.

Radon City

The city itself encompasses a much larger section of Radon Station than the military sector. This sector shows the strongest influence of Sionian design and culture, while still also feeling very distinctly Arshan in aesthetic. Bright, flashy neon lighting and vibrant coloration strikes a harsh contrast with the functional hard angles, deep blacks, and carefully chosen colored accents throughout the city. Notably, the city houses its own power generation system, medical facilities, emergency response services, as well as a large number of civilian docking ports and hanger bays. A detachment of federal police from Zulu Defence Forces and Katar law enforcement also operate with shared jurisdiction over the city.

The city is divided into three main districts, arranged in circles that encapsulate the core military sector. Each district is designated simply by number. District One, the innermost ring, is the designated operations and government district, housing all governmental staff offices as well as various Republic and Federal provided services. District Two is the residential district and, as its name implies, provides various forms of housing for all of the station's residents. The outer ring, known as District Three, is the commercial, logistical, and docking district. Here is where the majority of Sionian influence can be found in the form of shops and stalls, malls, theatres, and other hallmarks of commercial franchises. Arshan service and logistical personnel also commonly work from offices and warehouses in this district.
