Arshan Combat Duty Uniform
While technically not a single uniform, the term Combat Duty Uniform is applied to all variations of active combat wear fielded by the Federation. The exact equipment worn varies widely depending on climate, role, and any special requirements in a combat zone. Combat uniforms are typically solid colors combined with a camouflage pattern utilizing thin stripes of varying colors and shades. Combat assignments that are not concerned with camouflage use a solid neutral gray color with no camouflage pattern. The Combat Duty Uniform is commonly referred to as 'Camos' or 'Cammies'.
Variants
While the variations are near limitless, there are a number of combat uniforms used as the baseline for more specialized configurations.
Standard
The base combat variant upon which all other variants derive from, the standard combat uniform consists of a shirt (Either long or short sleeve, dependent on personal preference and environment), pants, combat boots, personal armor, a combat helmet, and combat goggles. Other equipment is provided based on role, situation, and climate, and components of the standard uniform are swapped out under the same conditions. Clothing is made from a material resistant to wear and tear, with padding where needed to protect portions of the body such as knees and elbows. This variant is used by combat personnel defending space vessels and stations, and by members of boarding parties.
Arctic
Used in arears with colder climates, such as the arctic regions of habitable worlds, this uniform replaces the shirt and pants with a long sleeve thermal sweater and thermal pants to help preserve body heat. Personnel in cold climates may also be provided with jackets or parkas and full-fingered gloves.
Arid
Designed for use in dry, hot climates such as deserts, arid uniforms utilize lighter weight clothing with less padding to allow better airflow. Personnal typically choose to wear the short sleeve combat shirts with lighter weight armor, though this isn't official doctrine.
