Tycho Inafiel

Tycho Inafiel is the advisor of the king of Agassea, a city-state in the D'nopsis Valley of Crisel.

The Man Behind the Curtain

Tycho Inafiel was born in the city of Agassea in AV 1547, to a human mother and sun elf father. His mother was on the council for the city-state's king, while his father was the guildmaster of the merchant's guild. Tycho attended school in Agassea from the ages of 5 to 18, at which point he attended the city's university for an additional 4 years and studied politics. After his graduation, and with the help of his influential mother, Tycho was granted a position as the assistant to the king's advisor. Tycho worked in this position for about fifteen years, until the eventual passing of the city's king.

The city's king at the time of Tycho's adolescence and young adulthood was a human named Pseudolus Narses. He was a renowned leader and led the city-state to a time of prosperity. At his death, the crown was given to his son, Petrus. Petrus had had no experience ruling, and was only twenty-three at his coronation, so he relied heavily on the support of his council and advisors. In the king's sixth year of rule, the advisor that Tycho had been assisting retired, and Tycho was promoted to the vacated position.

In his new position, Tycho realized that he would have the king's ear on all matters, especially since Petrus had proven to be a weak and rather indecisive leader. On most every matter, whether of small or great importance, Petrus sought the advice of someone else. Tycho aimed to be that someone else.

Slowly, he began to exert his influence over the king, planting seeds of trust towards himself and mistrust towards his other advisors and even the council. It was not long before the king began to make decisions that Tycho wanted him to make, despite the rest of the city-state and the king himself believing that these decisions were the king's own ideas. While they were, technically, they were ideas that Tycho had whispered into the king's ear, planted inside his head without him becoming aware of the scheme.

Tycho still serves as the king's advisor, and still acts as a puppet master to the king. Although none in Agassea, are really aware of this, the other city-states of Crisel and even the Mounted Court of Hippeas are acutely aware that Agassea is led by a puppet king.
