Space Whales are a rare intelligent species that can actually store mana within themselves. Most can even transfer mana to individuals, but to do so they create Pacts. Since none of them have dexterous limbs or manipulation digits, they haven’t developed a read/write system. Due to these reasons and the way mana seems to operate in the universe they have very limited use of this mana they seem to store in their body. One of these ways is FTL travel, but at the speeds they can go, it really is only useful for interplanetary travel.
