Mari Quelemieux
Mari Quelemieux is the head medical research in Meadowbrook while also serving as its head physician. She is a kind woman, though very stern and disciplinary towards her patients. As she is unable to have children of her own, she cares for all the children of the village as though they were hers. While she traveled with Phillip, she became a professional knife thrower, and performed frequently with him.
She stands at 5'9" and has long, beautiful, black hair that sits at her waist. She has a buxom physique and is very agile and precise in her movements. She wears simple garbs and keeps her hair down unless she is working.
Personal History
Mari grew up in impoverished village of Havre, a haven for those affected by the continuous warfare in the Kingdoms. She was born to Isabella, a physician and surgeon, and her father, Gilbert, was a barber and apothecary. Both her parents were respected leaders of the Havre community that aided the ailing and dying that to refuge in the shanty town. Surrounded by suffering and longing to be of help, Mari was taught the practice of alchemy and medicine from a young age. Mari aided her parents in any way she could. She was trained to defend herself, providing especially proficient with daggers. One harsh winter day shortly before her 16th birthday, Havre was beset upon by hired muscle paid by the local lord, Count Jean Orgueil, to clear out the shanty town. The hired thugs quickly turned to violence when the folks refused to move and began sacking the small village before putting it to the torch, killing any who resisted. Mari's parents were slain for sport as they tried to stop the needless violence along with the majority. With the reflection of her home burning in her eyes, Mari swore she would get revenge on any who took part in the destruction of all she held dear, before fleeing in the wild. She would manage to accomplish that goal by slitting Jean Orgueil's throat on the 11th anniversary of the burning of Havre, during the climax of Delphina Le Berre's rebellion against King Harlan Domon, completing her bloody streak of revenge. While traveling with the Cirque des Merveilles in an attempt to get close to her target, she met her husband, Philip Quelemieux when the circus was performing in Godfrey's Watch in the autumn of 1256.
