Pakau, Kingdom of the Sun (Paq-kow)

Pakau is the deepest parts of the Telosian Islands, or so by legend. Further Northeast from the Tourist heavy islands lies the lands that lay untamed, and only ventured by Bellings. These consist of islands covered in dense rain forests and hardly explored. Ruins exist, but these ruins are not of Combine origin. Only on one Island tehre is a Combine ruin that was thought to be a lab, on South Pakau.   The land is inhabited with native lizardfolk known as Drakith and other mysteries.

The Kingdom of the Sun

The official government that bares authority over the islands is a Drakith Nation known as The Kingdom of the Sun. The government is not modernized and relies mostly on outdated techniques. However the Drakith know the islands like the back of their claws and their guerilla tactics and hit and run tactics have thwarted and crippled even the most modernized nations attempts to colonize. Wars of Attrition are the key to the Kingdom's victories, and how they are one of the last nations of Gaia, to exist from the Pre-Modernised era.   The Drakith of Pakau are a very secretive people, They are led by a King, and this king maybe hereditary. Not much contact has been made with the Native Drakith to understand their culture or ways of life. They were almost always met with violence or reluctance. Both Bellings and MAssiez'Laire are trying to coax them into talking. There are even rumors that the Sassliss Imperium is also involved in some way.

The Pakau Archipelago

The islands are indeed a mystery, they have stories claiming they were once archipelagos of a sunken continent. The islands appear ot surround the largest island which is called Paka'u. Paka'u it self is about three times larger than Telos, the next most populated isle of the Islands.

Amantpa'uai Isle

One of the largest islands on the chain of islands, this is by far the most interacted with of all Pakau. The Far Shores company has used this island for the most part of thier island conquests. Any Drakith Populations here have gone extinct, or were shipped back to Bellings for 'centralization'. The isle is now mostly popluated by humans who call themselves natives, wrongfully. They do not recognize the Kingdom of the Sun and are always at odds with Drakith Reclamation parties.

Landis Island

Another island that has been exhausted and abused by Bellings. the island of Landis was even named after a Bellings General. This of course deeply offended the Drakith King, and has many tribal partisans that stil to this day try to reclaim the city of O'Oka, the administration capitol of the island. The Humans here are known as the 'frontiersmen' as the deeper people go, the more mysterious and dangerous it gets.

Akmapaki

Akampaki is known as the last frontier of the Drakith lands. Due to the dense rainforests that cover this island, Bellings corpos could not land effectively, and those who did, became victim to Drakith raiding parties. Anything beyond here is known to be firmly in the grasp of Drakith and the Kingdom of the Sun.
"That is the first bastion of the savages that live here, all attempts to pacify the beasts have ended in failure, I would burn that entire rain forest down, but then what would be left to ship back to Bellings?" ~Commander Landis Shorefell of the Bellings Expeditionary forces. "Wars of Attrition"

Ama'oi Island

This island is mostly uninhabited due to the deep rainforests there. There is said to be more here, but no one is able to land and explore the island. Disease always struck anyone who attempted to explore, or hardships endured caused a total failure.
"Ama'oi I thought always was Telosian, but the foxians said that the island is sacred and not even they would dare set foot on the island. I think half of Gaia's prehistoric life could be here in the form of surviving small creatures. But why is it that disease is always the culprit of any attempts to explore the jungle?" ~Scholar Shaye Simmons, Guild of Lore "Lore of the Lost History"

South Pakau

The Kingdom of the Sun has several temple-cities on this island. Spotted by satellites at first, this is supposedly the site of a Combine Laboratory that would further understand the Drakith people. Despite the islands size, the temple city of Oomaki resides here. However no outsiders were allowed to ever enter here. On a clear day, many sailors traveling south of the islands say they spot a golden idol atop some sort of tower of stone, barely.

West Pakau

One of the bastions of the Drakith people, the Kingdom of the Sun maintains a massive stone citadel here, around what is called the Pyramid of Dusk. This is often one of the first islands people run into when traveling from Kharis to Gateway.

North Pakau

The northern most island of the Kingdom of the Sun's divine realm. Located just north of Ebonai, this island is sparsely populated, mostly by drakith tribes. Another island that many can not land on, but there was evidence of Sasslisian military activity in times of Antiquity.
"I think at one point, the Isarians of Sassliss tried to conquer the islands, starting with North Pakau. Being creatures of  a jungle themselves, I find it fascinating that thier intents have failed...or have they? its unclear why we found Sasslisian shipwrecks of the coast, and with some parties that were able to land, found Sasslisian ancient weapons...this is truly fascinating." ~Scholar Shaye Simmons, Guild of Lore "Lore of Lost History"

Ebonai Island

The main notable feature of this island is Mt. Ebonai, which is an active volcano. It is unsure if there is a reported dragon that lives here, as the island is too dangerous to establish bases on. The volcano is very active and has limited life on it. There maybe a few Drakith Hunting posts on the island, but no real large settlements.

Paka'u

The largest of the islands in the region. this is where the Empire of the Sun is based out of and solely claims. They have extreme limited outsider interactions, but the island is mostly unexplored, and is rumored to have hundreds if not thousands of Drakith villages, towns or religious centers. The only thing Confirmed is this is where the Capitol of the Kingdom of the Sun is, but no one knows exactly where it is. Cartographers speculate that it could be located on the large unnamed lake that is on the island, but the region is always cloudy or covered by a mist when a satellite takes pictures.
"Pakau itself is a large island, and home  to the enigmatic Kingdom of the Sun. I don';t know much about this land, but I do know that the Drakith ferociously defend this place religiously as if it were the last thing on Gaia. I wonder if the Trade Company ever made contact inland yet. Maybe one day we will know these folk." ~Scholar Shaye Simmons, Guild of Lore "Lore of Lost History"
