The Henges

The two main henges of the UK, are Stone and Wood henge. Both can be found in the Southwest of England. What remains of Woodhenge are concrete pillars marking where the old wooden pillars would have been. Stonehenge on the other hand still stands.   The superstition comes in that even before The Great Rewind that it was a calendar of some type that if someone were to go there and look at where the sun rose or set would tell the user what part of the year it is, namely the summer or winter solstices.

The Myth

Unfortunately due to The Great Rewind, this speculation was lost and since all that exists of Woodhenge is a formation of concrete pillars this did not help matters. As it fermented the idea that the people of the latter part of The Old World had technological ideas beyond that of The New World’s understanding.   These ideas are that the concrete pillars were a way of replacing something and were strengthening something such as teleportation of goods or a new way of communication. Attempts have been made by the local people to seek out the meaning of the pillars, such as counting the number of pillars in each ring to discern their meaning or even how wide they are compared to others. Ultimately it is also to work out the connection between the concrete pillars of the former henge and the connection between it and Stonehenge as there must be something surely!

The Truth

There have been doubters who think that they have it all wrong and that there is something quite simple behind the pillars. When in actual fact these people are right, they are just concrete pillars that are there as a way to describe the actual building to tourists, long since dead. It’s not technological but rather historical and cultural.
