Future Earth of the 22nd Century (placeholder)

The Year is 2118, Mankind is on the verge of a crossroad. The 21st century had been a trying time for Earth, nearly avoiding environmental destruction and seeing a recurring trend of political upheavals. The 2110s is the first decade in over a century where the concept of the "End of History" can even be in consideration.   Like the last time, this idea was considered in human history, this decade is simply the calm before a storm. Issues such as genetically modifying human sub-species and the creation of human-level intelligences have finally exited the realm of science fiction and have begun their arrival into people's ordinary lives. Storms are also brewing in the realm of politics as the truce between the ideologies of Ethical Capitalism, Socialism and Neo-Syndicalism are breaking apart in several nations. The issue of space colonization and their governance are starting to emerge as several groups have start construction on them at the LaGrange points and on the Moon.   The political map has seen a great number of changes with the nations of the early 21st century experiencing great political upheavals in the middle of the 21st century. Some nations survived while other crumbled. The two largest cases of a nation falling apart, where the Russian Federation in the 2030s and the People's Republic of China in 2050s. Other nation like U.S.A have seen it fortune have seen it fortunes fall and then rise again. Some nations like Japan through great effort have re-established themselves as major world powers. The world map is both familiar and different to a person from the early 21st century.   This is a future at the Crossroad between Dystopia and Utopia with both options still equally at the table. A world that borders the mundane and futuristic. A world both familiar and strange. This is the world of (placeholder for an actual name)
