Furies of The Barrens

The Barrens were not always dry, but at some point in history the inhabitants of the land must have attracted the wrath of the gods. A terrible drought came, forcing the once-peaceful folks into a constant struggle with each other over scarce food and water.   Deep within the metal tombs of the previous races a few curious souls dug out powerful treasure, Psychotronics, and with them they started building their own little kingdoms, inspiring followers and slaying those that went against them. They now live in fantastical spires and towers called eyries, supposedly protecting the common folk from divine wrath and from the monstrous creatures living outside of the Barrens.   Races from beyond the starts came to this searing land, crashing with their organic space-vessels. They too joined the common folk and found employ under the overlords due to their unique talents. Now this has become a land of many tongues, as the desert tribes are getting restless and new terrible species has been bred.   And somewhere among all that ruckus is the people known as Furies, people unsuceptible, fedup or vengeful enough to abandon the safety of civilized life, now seeking to upset the unnatural order dictated by the Overlords.
