Lord Beljr Kvyn (a.k.a. Vvulfiend)

Lord Beljr Kvyn, although now of great renown was born to humble beginings. Born into the house of a lesser lord of Bleda, Beljr was raised to preside over their district. Being educated by many of the tutors of Bleda, and then by attending Bleda's university for a time. Unlike many of their peers however, Beljr Kvyn was raised among many of the Vvulfjr not hidden away from these strange wolfmen like the other nobles of Bleda. House Kvyn, oversaw a district of Bleda which had a relatively large Vvulfjr population. Their father, often would welcome the Vvulfjr into his home recieving them as his equals. Beljr as they grew, watched as this respect lessened tensions within the district. Although mocked openly by the other Lords for this approach, the Lord Kvyn and young Beljr were never bothered. They both held the title Vvulfiend, an honorific title bestowwed on them by the Vvulfjr Chief of Bleda.

Life among the Vvulfjr.

Beljr came into their own renown after their father's death, and assuming the leadership of House Kvyn. Taking on their father's former duties representing their district in the Court of the Prince, Beljr was an avid advocate for the Vvulfjr and the humans of their district. Pushing for reforms, and expansions which would grant more rights and stability to the Vvulfjr, and bring greater oppritunity to both races of their district. Having been a representative in the Court for only a few years when word of the Raider invasions reached Bleda, the now Lord Kvyn pushed for action. Reluctant to break official neutrality in the dealings of Athera and Pelliny the Court decided no formal actions could be taken by the small Principality. It was made clear to Beljr that the actions of a small group of individuals would not be officially sanctioned but would be permitted to depart for the front. Beljr then took initiative, rallying a group of volunteers to assist Pelliny and Athera. They would form a small company of about thirty which would be come to be known as the The White Company.

It is through their leadership of the White Company which they would garner their fame. As they fought many battles across the coastline of Pelliny and Athera, even meeting The Marshal of the King who would become a friend of the young Lord. During the early months of the war, Beljr and the Whtie Company would mostly travel between coastal villages which had long been suffering raids from across the Shattered Sea. Fending off raiders and becoming something of local folk heroes, the Company would build a reputation for nobility and heroics which Beljr would come to embody.

As the war progressed, the reputation of Lord Kvyn and the White Company grew attracting ever more volunteers from Bleda. With their numbers bolstered Beljr and the White Company would join the combined army of Cal-Corvec, Cal-Edus, and Pelliny. Moving south with this large army, the White Company would serve in many battles against the ever encroaching raider armies.

After the War, Lord Kvyn would return to Bleda a far more important figure than at the time of their departure. Although they would see the formal disbandment of the White Company as it was, Lord Kvyn would maintain a small group of knights which could serve the realms freely and noblely. This new incarnation of the White Company was made up of some of the most dedicated members of the White Company, and also led to the first knightings of any Vvulfjr. Vvulfjr whos service in the name of the White Company had earned them recognition within the human court.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Early Life

Beljr was born into a privilaged life, living as the first born of the Kvyn house. Although a lesser noble house, it still provided wealth and comforts uncommon in Bleda. Martial training, and rigerous education were main stays of Beljr's life from the time they could walk. The true abnormality of Beljr's life was the company which their father kept, as Lord of the northern district Lord Kvyn over saw many of the Vvulfjr communities within Bleda. Unlike the other noble houses, House Kvyn welcomed the Vvulfjr into their home and saw them as their equals. To the point where many of Lord Kvyn's closest personal friends were community leaders of the Vvulfjr. These close relations shifted how the young Beljr saw the Vvulfjr residents of the city, and they were as comfortable among them as they were among their fellow humans. Lord Kvyn had the young Beljr train and hunt with the Vvulfjr when they could, hoping to show them a true apprication for the Vvulfjr's culture.

The young Beljr came to age and strength quickly, as a person of two cultures and was never bothered by the mocking they received from their human peers. Mocked for the mannerisms they had picked up from the Vvulfjr, teased for smelling of dog, for having flees, but Beljr was always proud of his fellowship with the Vvulfjr. His father having earned the title Vvulfiend for his repersentation of the Vvulfjr's needs to the court of Bleda, Beljr also sought this title from their people. Spending more of their time among the Vvulfjr than their peers, Beljr became a capable hunter and warrior. On one such hunt, the hunting party came across a great beast in the wild mountains to the north. This beast quickly killed two memebers of the pack, and wounding another four. As it turned to kill the Vvulfjr Warchief, Beljr stepped between the two. Standing alone against a great beast, they fought with spear in one hand and sword in the other. Slaying the beast before the Warchief of the Vvulfjr, and wounded in the process Beljr was victorious. For their courage Beljr was granted the title of Vvulfiend, and the Warchief granted them her spear of Bone Steel. Honored and humbled, Beljr returned to Bleda a warrior of the Vvulfjr and seen as worthy of leading them.

Leader of House Kvyn

With his victorious return from the hunt, Beljr began to step into leadership of House Kvyn, as their father had began to fall ill. Now taking direct mentorship from their father, Beljr would attend court with their father. Observing and learning how to lead and represent their people. As the illness which plauged their father worsened, their father bestowwed on them the badge of office of House Kvyn, a bone steel sword forged by the a Vvulfjr Shaman. The finely crafted arming sword was among the finest weapons within Bleda, and was a reflection of the Kvyn House's closeness with the Vvulfjr. With this sword at their belt Beljr assumed the title of Lord from their father, and took over all buisness of the House. Although often dismissed for youth, and closeness with the Vvulfjr, Lord Beljr Kvyn fought hard in the court for their people and earned a reputation for being well thought out and strongly spoken.

Representing their district for a few years in the court of Bleda, their reputation had solidified but respect was hard fought. When word came to Bleda of the Raider invasion of Athera, Beljr saw this as an imparitive to act in defense of their old allies and as a means to further build their reputation. Taking these concerns to the court, it was quickly decided that any official action would break the Treaty of Red Snow and could risk retalation from the Eastern. The Prince was however sympathetic to the plight of the Atheran's and recognized that should Athera fall, there would be no looming threat too keep the Eastern in check. The Prince authorized Lord Kvyn to assemble a band of volunteers to go to Athera, and fight in their own name rather than that of Bleda. Beljr jumped at this oppritunity, turning adminstration of the District and House to their mother the Lady Kvyn.

The White Company

Beljr took no time in assembling the White Company; of the many guardsmen, knights, and mercinaries in Bleda there were many who took up the call. Beljr was selective with the thirty they chose, and also asked for Vvulfjr to join the company. The Vvulfjr were hesitant to join in the wars of men, but a few of Beljr's close friends answered their call. With the company assembled Beljr comminisioned white surcoats embroidered with the golden crest of house Kvyn as a sign of unity, as well as having shields made of the same coloration. This would be the symbol of what would come to be called the White Company by the people of Pelliny and Athera.

The White Company was sent by the King of Pelliny to the Coasts of the Shattered Sea, where the small towns and villages have long suffered the raids of the Sea Raiders. Beljr and the White Company found these towns desperate for support, looking to the Company as deliverance form their hardships. Their first battle with the Sea Raiders came one dawn, as out of the fog came the ships of the enemy. Awoken by the ringing of the town bell, and cries to the ready the White Company made ready for battle. The six ships of the Raiders made land fall just outside of town, the dozens of warriors surging from their ships and towards town. To the surprise of these warriors they found not a defenseless village, but the thirty of the White Company standing against them. The Shields of the White Company drawn in tight formation they met this enemy with spear and sword. The stalwart fortitude of the White Company holding firm against the aggression of the Raiders before driving them back to their ships. The village had been spared suffering by the strength of the White Company, and looked to them as saviors. Beljr, proud of their company celebrated amongst the people of the town for the night before moving on. In the early days of the war the White Company travelled the coastline, never staying in any village long. Their reputation quickly grew, and word made its way back to Bleda. With word of their exploits many mercinaries and warriors of Whitehelm looked to join the White Company. A slow trickle of warriors reinforcing their numbers, until their numbers had more than doubled.
