Hurish Al-Naar
Hurish Al-Naar is a species of centipede native to Al-Shamal desert.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Typically, Hurish Al-Naar can reach 6.5 inches in length but some has been recorded to reach until 8 inches in the wild. This centipede posses a rounded and flattened head, bearing a pair of antennae at the forward margin. The body consists of 20 segments with each segment bearing a pair of legs with each pair being longer than the ones at the front.
Hurish Al-Naar is aposematically colored to ward of any predators. Most Hurish are tangerine and lined with black on the legs and sides.
Ecology and Habitats
Hurish Al-Naar is found in the desert of Al-Shamal and can be seen burrowing in the sand. But this often being brushed off as wind due to its subtlety.
They strive in the extreme heat. At night, the cold renders them unconscious, leaving them temporarily in hibernation until daytime.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Hurish is primarily a diurnal predator and hunt for rodents, other insects and small reptiles. The centipede uses its venom to subdue its prey.

Uses, Products & Exploitation
A nomadic tribe in Al-Shamal capture these Hurish to harvest their venom to be used on their weapons. Though the venom isn't fatal, it was enough to subdue an enemy long enough till unconscious and be taken as hostages. This is evident when the tribe uses this method during the Second Fitna against the Qadena Governorate .
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Though fairly common in the region of Kalsaki, these arthropods hide under the sand most of the time, causing most to think that they are extremely endangered. Otherwise, digging through the sand can guarantee you to pick up a Hurish or two.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Hurish detects their prey with their antennae in the sand. They also utilize their legs to detect vibrations within the sand like a radar for water source or potential dangers.
