The Provectus Clay Apartments

"Although it may seem like a crowded and disease-ridden tower, it's actually quite pleasant to live here. The warm air from the fire keeps the rooms cozy. And you're supplied with effective cleaning equipment with regular check-ups. Despite being filthy savages, Provectors can make a tiny apartment lavish." - Edith Scourge (A Vindexian Spy)

Purpose / Function

These apartments were built for exactly what you would think. Though they also serve many alternative purposes, like housing restaurants. Instead of looking around the city for somewhere to eat, you can just look down the food hall of your apartment building. They also act as barracks for soldiers as there are underground stories designed for troops. Each underground room has spare armor, bandages, and 'Splosion Sprout liquid.

Alterations

Over time, these clay towers have had additions and changes made to them. For instance, stone and metal reinforcements were added to the foundations so that they couldn't collapse. The barracks and restaurants were also added later on. Windows, a heating system, and staff made great improvements to the houses.

Architecture

Each tower's exterior consists of mostly clay and stone. This was done to prevent large fires from destroying and spreading to the apartments. In the interior, you will find laminated wood and thick carpets along the floor. Paintings and mosaics made from Man's Civility Temple are placed on the walls in the halls. In most entrances to the towers, you can usually find beautiful tapestries hung up.

History

When Provectus was founded, many of its citizens would kill to live near the coast and in the city. The wealthy and lucky few to own a house in the city were bombarded with offers to build on top of their home. Most accepted, and like a true tycoon, started a business out of it. These people preceded to renovate their houses to fit more like an apartment entrance. Eventually, the dictator claimed ownership of the apartments but was kind enough to share revenue with the owners. The dictator then issued renovations and repairs to the buildings, creating what is seen today.
