The Ring of Faith and Fate
My teacher is making me write this dumb write up on The Ring of Faith and Fate because I said that it was the stupidest thing that the Fenati have ever held sacred.
What it is:
The Ring of Faith and Fate is a name that refers to old rings, cast in a blend of metals that's practically invisible to the untrained eye. Pretty dumb that the name is singular but it refers to more than one ring, "the ring" implies there should only be one, but there's several still around. It's like saying "the wedding ring" to refer to all wedding rings ever.
What it is not:
It is not magic, or cursed, or "the stupidest thing the Fenati have ever held sacred". I now believe that honor is held by the Aslaii, it's literally just a book, and not even an exciting one.
Rumors:
There are a lot of rumors around "the ring".
Stories hold that Rings of Faith were invisible rings worn on the Fenati homeworld of Xuri when the Zurosians began persecuting and in some cases executing anyone openly following the Fenati Religion. All this research I did and I still can't figure out how to type the Fenati Religion's name, it's written in Old Fenti and the Fenati don't know how to translate it anymore, they just know how it's said. That part seems to be mostly true, there's really no reason other than persecution to need an invisible marker of one's faith.
Rumor states however, that the "fate" part of the name refers to the "fact" that the rings are said to have turned black moments before the wearers imminent death. There's no evidence that the rings can actually turn black with anything other than exposure to black paint.
It's rumored that Kiiran was wearing her ancestor's Ring of Faith and Fate when she made the first ever Galactic Address.
What did I learn:
It's rude to say that something from your teacher's religion is stupid. You shouldn't insult people's religions because they might make you do extra homework because of it.
Significance
Holds much cultural significance to the Fenati I'm sorry I insulted them, Professor Kasi
