Summary

Innoit ancestors were sent forth by the sungod, Inti, and emerged from the cave Tambo Toco. From Tambo Toco were three windows, from where the founders of Tawantinsuyu emerged. The first of whom would dominate over the lesser innoit clans.

Historical Basis

Hayaqiago

Native inhabitants of the coast have plenty of innoit blood intertwined with theirs. It is well known, in their stories, that the strandees required heavy parenting from the people of the coast. Only much later, beyond the time of the "spontaneous generation", did some of their descendants begin acting aggressive against their immediate neighbours and exploring deeper inland.

Spread

Conquest

Telling of the innoits' emerging from the cave, by the command of a common deity, is lauded again and again as acceptable reasoning to a vanquished foe for their defeat. In every retelling, some aspects of the conquered culture in incorporated so that the integration becomes more palatable. This is also a reason cited for the continual expansion of the empire's own celestial bureaucracy.

Variations & Mutation

Flood Arrival

One version as told by the tribes on hayaqiago, say that the Hatun Wamp'u themselves were the vessels from which the innoit sailed the sea and stranded themselves onto their beaches.

Children of the Sun

Another version, as favoured by the innoit, states Inti directly spawned the innoit as a people. And being descended from the sun, are obliged to preach of a unified peace and bring the earth dwellers together.
It is propaganda to justify their wars of conquest and suppression of every other culture. They are a jealous people. Even when they acknowledge our culture is better than theirs, they cannot help but say it was theirs all along.

Cultural Reception

Spontaneous Generation

The first venerated generation that oversaw the arrival the innoit to the shores of Hayaqiago, adventures of the pre-sapa leaders and wanderings of the clans.

Wak'a

A prayer place venerated by all and where whither go to pray for oracles and to sacrifice. Doors of gold are placed on the qhapaq tu'uqu window to make it easier to find as a wak'a for prayer and sacrifice.

In Literature

Three Windows

The windows refer to the three openings of the cave from where the clan would enter the world.
Maras T'uqu
The first and, arrguably, the most prestigous window portrayed as challenging as it points upwards towards the sun.
Sut'i T'uqu
One of the smaller windows that led to the sea and was the final crossing line of a winding even path.
Qhapaq T'uqu
One of the smaller windows that led to the mountain river and was the final crossing line of a winding horizontal path.

In Art

Windows of the Universe

An artitectural feature where three rectangular windows represent each part of their world:
  1. The underground (Uku-Pacha)
  2. The heaven (Hanan-Pacha)
  3. The present or the actual time (Kay-Pacha)
These windows also represent the rise of the sun. Oftentimes, stone baths sourced with mineral water that cure any kind of pain and sickness are installed underneath them to purify the body, mind and spirit.
