Unknown; likely a curse by a witch or other paranormal being.

Often characterized by those infected experiencing immense success in a career related to the supernatural, but also in early deaths or improbable debilitating injuries.

Treatment

No cure is known at this time.

Exclusively found in the Young family bloodline.

History

It is believed that the curse originated with one Sir Edward Young in the late 19th to early 20th centuries. How he came to contract it is unknown, and there are no records of his existence past the 1940s. Process of elimination would suggest that it originated at some point between 1888 and 1896, but depending on the precise vector of the curse it could also have originated as late as 1924, when tragedy first struck the family in a serious way.
