Fortress

The Universe of Fortress is a vision of the future of humanity as we look to the stars.   The people of Terra have established the Terran Defense Force to manage and defend Terra's colonies, while keeping them from being tied to any particular nation. The Terran Defense Force controls a small amount of systems, all very close to Terra itself.   The Four all come from one world, Fortress, and, though human, they were taken from Terra in prehistoric times, by the Collectors. The Forsaken, Forsworn, and Forefront fight amongst themselves regularly, and all compete for control of Fortress, where the only inhabitants are the tribal Forgotten.   These, and other alien empires all compete for both their own survival, and ancient technology left over from the fallen empires of eras long past.
