Tredmars

An old merchant family that lived in the northern parts of Formarion.
Originating in Takene the Tredmars rose to prominence right after the Age of War. They distinguished themselves by consolditating alot of the livestock trade in the area which allowed them to fill a necessary void after the war decimated large parts of the Northern Run.
After the area recovered, the Tredmars managed to hold onto their prominent status in the area by aggressivley shutting out competitors and incorporating exotic animals in their portfolio aswell. Around this time the first rumours started cropping up about illegal business practices of the family but nothing could be proven until later.
Some generations later, Elkenford was established and the Tredmars moved their headquarters there. Shortly after the heir to the family Maria Tredmar, was involved in a big scandal regarding bribing government officials and illegal trade of animals and some mentions of slavery also made the rounds. Following these accusations the Black Guard launched a full scale investigation and discovered several of the accusations to be true.
The Investigations were lead by Dorophil Vestrans, a member of the influential Vestran family and a, at this time, renowned law speaker.
The investigation and subsequent confirmation of the accusations lead to a rapid decline of the family, as many of their customers moved to the smaller competition and the revenue generated from the illegal business was cut off completely aswell.
The family slowly moved into obscurity and now it is unknown if there are any members of the family left.

Structure

The Tredmar family was organized in a traditional patriarchal structure. The current leader of the family was usually the oldest member of the family and they tooke care of the business side.
In addition most of the marriages were pre arragend to secure powerful allies and bind politicans to the family.

Public Agenda

Their agenda was that of a typical merchant family. They tried to further their business and increase profits. While doing so they didn't necessarily stay on the legal side of things which ultimately lead to their downfall.
