The Kespians

The defacto ruling council of the city of Mael Springs . It always consists of the three richest merchants, which in the context of Mael Springs means slavers. The dynasties within the council rarely change and, if a kespian dies, are usually passed on to the new leader of the trade imperium.

Structure

The Kespians are the three richtes merchants of Mael Springs . They all carry equal voting rights within the organization and the city. Important decisions always have to be passed by all three of the members and if no unanimous decision can be reached favours will usually be bought and sold until a decision is reached. Due to this way of reaching decisions each political decision inside the city can have far reaching trade consequences.
Each of the Kespians has their own personal guard, the so called sworn swords. They are recruited direclty out of The Star or in more rare cases The School. Each Sworn Sword is bound to the Kespian by a magical ritual that makes binds their life to the service of The Kespian. On top of that each Kespian employs one personal bodyguard, The Sworn Shield. These bodyguards are exclusively recruited out of The Star and are mostly multiple champions so the fighting prowess of each one is proven. When being recruited the Sworn Shield forsakes all its worldly ambitions and goals and dedicates their life to the Kespian it has to serve.

Public Agenda

The Kespians are not very subtle about their intentions. They want to kee ahold of their absolute power inside the city and their immesurable wealth. To keep the status quo The Kespians dont shy away from anything, killing, enslaving of locking dissenters up is the norm for them.
