Neverwinter

An hour after sunup we saw the first glint of the marble roofs of Neverwinter.
Drawing nearer, the nearly 20 meters high walls of smooth granit are a contrast like night to the bright, shining buildings.
  • Inkan Seldira, Elven Merchant
  •   A city in the Pragon Empire, located on the east coast of the empire. It is the biggest city of the empire and viewed as the cultural capital by a mahority of the populace. The city itself is surrounded by farms and smaller farmsteads. Insided the tall city walls the rural atmosphere vanishes and a whole load of traders and artisans shape the cityscape, forming a long straight road into the city center to the big central marketplace.
Around the marketplace and the "Way of the Artisan" the homesteads of the rich and powerful of the city are built, leading to a very widespread and beautifully build city district. Connecting to the central district are the other living districts. While those are not as richt as the central district they aren't, by any stretch of the imagination, poor.
In addition to that Neverwinter is the main base of the "Praetorians" one of the elite regiments of the empires armies.

    Demographics

While a big part of the populace is human, Neverwinter has a considerable amount of elven inhabitants. In addition to that a dwarven enclave can be found around the local gem shops and money foundries. But with Neverwinter being a coastal city almost all race can be found here and no single race would be considered out of place. The only thing that is out of place in this city are potentially homeless or poor people. Even the city guard is very mindful of preventing any of these people from entering the city, as to keep up the look and image as a rich metropolitan city.

    Architecture

The majority of the buildings are built from expensive stones like marble and granite. In addition to that the inhabitants value the artistic emphasis of their houses, which leads to a booming sculptures businesses and to each house having their own unique decorations making each street of the city something special to look at.
In some neighborhoods the inhabitants banded together to create whole themed parts of the city. These are a big draw for tourists from all over the empire.
