Solarus

The Capital of the Sunshine Coalition. Built in the old SolarTec facility, the place is lined top to bottom in Solar panels, solar satellites, and small wind turbines. The entire building seems to glow with all the light reflecting off it. The facility is largely built up, and heavily fortified. The compound itself has a major medical facility, trading hub, recruitment office, and is open to the public. All are welcome to join and reside in Solarus, provided they agree to the work requirements.

Largely ghoul, but also has human, robot, and super mutants scattered throughout

Government

Solarus is a socialist democracy, run by "Sonny" Ramirez. He appoints officials in settlements and requires his citizens to do work for their rations that are divided amongst the people. Most don't argue, since it's free food, shelter, and protection, which is more than they can get elsewhere.

Defences

Boasts biggest military presence in Gulf Commonwealth, although poorly trained militia. Solar Cannon technology specific to area. Large fortified walls and patrols every hour.

Industry & Trade

Sunshine Coalition is mostly ran by taxation. It charges a hefty 20% tax on all goods of it's citizens. Some suffer greatly for this, but it's for the good of all as it's distributed back into the community

History

Solarus was established sometime around 2291 when the Sunshine Coalition was still gaining momentum. "Sonny" followed the ruins of old Sunshine Coalition billboards to a facility north of Tampa where solar panels were manufactured. There he decided to build his capital.

Architecture

Large orange brick building with massive solar panels adorning the building on every conceivable inch. The compound has pop tents and metal structures to accommodate it's many residents.

Geography

Solarus is roadside with massive fortified walls and defenses in the north of Tampa. A forest surrounds it to the north and south and adjoining road to the west. The pocket of land gets large quantities of sunshine, which was why it was chosen originally.
