Trade, Raid and Mead

Kongr Hallbjorn Bergson of Hallstead lives in a great mead hall on a hill in the fort. He owns all of the surrounding land, having earned it all through combat. He has 30 thanes of the most loyal humans and they drink the best mead brewed from the best honey and bees in Folkvangr. There are beehives inside the fort walls, and they grow most of their own crops outside the walls, aside for what they import from friendly connections in the land, like spices and exotic fruits and teas. Hallstead has a dock town by the same name on the endless sea. This is where they bring in half of their imports, with traders hailing from the mystical island and beyond on further shores. The weather on this southern portion of Asgard is always warm and the docks never ice over.
