Female harpies in their last stages of life will lay a single egg which is fertilized and cared for by a younger male.
Growth Rate & Stages
For the first four years of their lives, hatchling harpies are weak and blind and must be cared for by an older member of their tribe. Adolescents quickly learn to hunt for food and use magic. Harpies mature around their twentieth year of life. For the last ten years of their life, harpies feathers will grow white and fall off and their movement will be limited. This is when female harpies will lay their only egg.
