Byun Kangmin was born on January 30, 1973 in Bucheon, South Korea. He joined the military shortly after finishing school and made a career out of it. He met Son Naeun after joining Bulletproof Guardian Security in 1998 and fell in love with her. They married a few years later and had a son, named Woohyun. After some time though, Kangmin's workaholic nature caused problems with his wife, and in late 2015 she told him she wanted a divorce, and moved out of their home, taking their son with her. He resisted the divorce for a while, but it was finalized in late 2017. Despite that, he still calls her his wife.
