Session III: Recap
General Summary
Directly continuing after the sessions prior events, our motley band of adventurers found themselves faced with an orc dressed suspiciously like a native Flottlander, who are well known to be humans. A full-blooded orc is also a very rare sight in these parts of Flottland.
After briefly convincing the orc, who introduced himself as Nurbag, to lead them to the town of Xantippe down the road, they parted ways, as the group didn't bother to check in on Nurbag. The group struggled to decide what to do at first; Desere busked in the town square and was treated like a common beggar; Berid Gespit tried to convince his way into the local library under the guise of being a local scholar but failed. The group settled on going to the local tavern to get some rest before continuing.
The Golden Wolf, the local tavern run by Durzum and Borba, is where the group found themselves. Ordering a few beverages and food they discussed matters, particularly the fact that they were now in a world where all the town-folk, servers and people were orcish in appearance. Plunk was treated as a normal person but everyone else appeared to be of a lesser class overnight. The group settled down in a joint room for an evening of rest.
However, they were rudely awakened in the evening by the towns bells and screams of orc peasants in the distance. Upon inspecting the street from a window, a large group of undead creatures, a mixture of zombies and skeletons, were launching an assault on the tavern. Our brave adventurers took up arms and slayed these foul creatures, protecting Durzum and Borba from death. They briefly met the Xantippian Guard Captain, Bogrum, who didn't look so fondly on their efforts.
The group struggled to make their way through town in an attempt to break into the local library with the guard being so busy. The streets were chaotic with fires and barricades all around. When dawn came and the group found themselves in the towns square, they witnessed all of the undead stopping in their tracks. It was as if the very light itself prevented them from continuing. With the guards busy managing the wounded and corpses, the group managed to sneak into the local library to attempt to gather some knowledge about the new world.
The group met Kurz Zagok, the Xantippe Librarian who assisted them by providing a library register for them to peruse for any books they might be interested in. The group managed to discover a magically sealed book with the title "Tales of Adelwardus". By playing the Ocarina Desere stole from Grenfell, the magical seal on the book was lifted. Within the book were tales, proving that they were indeed in some strange type of different world. The tales in the book were that of the old world, ordinary Flottland tales. Compared to other books in the library, which now replaced humans with orcs, this one was the only one that remained the same as before.
The group took its leave from the library and found themselves tracking a trail of undead corpses up to the cemetery in the northwest of town. There they convinced Captain Bogrum to let them walk into the cemetery, by offering to fix the towns problems without any form of pay. The group hesitated upon discovering the Tomb of Yankathu, a strange untouched tomb with the inscription of Yankathu, a priest who dedicated his life to Deyja, the Lord of the Underworld (I said this wrong in the session, fixed now sorry).
The group retreated back into the town before going to deep, wanting time to mend their wounds. Instead they went shopping throughout the town where they met Manod Ophin, an armorer; Bali, a weapons dealer; and Mella Tunnell a person running an odds and ends shop who wanted to be a poet. Mella provided illustrious robes to Plunk on the expense of Wro. Mella also had a strange encounter with Berit about poetry, in a failed attempt to increase her skill at the art form. Mella is still just as bad at poetry, if not worse, then before Berit's interference.
Finally, the group returned to the tavern to get a good nights rest, as well as wake up their very sleepy companion, Sanite.
