Bunny Sessions 7-9
General Summary
Session 7
21st of Early Algid, 1725
The party heads into Feldenberg to find the place littered with dead bodies of nightgaunts, strange hounds with elongated snouts, and militia soldiers. Roaming the streets was a crazed mob with pitchforks heading to the garrison. Strangely, some wore coats over hospital gowns. The Blasted Bunnies managed to scare off the crowd. They then went to the garrison to warn them about the mobs. They insisted they could handle the situation. The party was insisted to check Miskham Asylum about supposed ruffians coming from there. While at Das Jagerhaus Tavern, they met a wounded party that mentioned about a nightgaunt cave up north, as that's where the music is coming from.
Before they left, they heard the tale about the former Headmaster Edward Crowley. How he founded Crowley University in order to avoid the Arcane League's pedantry and bureaucracy. He of course needed professors to teach there and one of them was Nearis Denitry who hired on to be a mythos teacher. Eventually, there came a rumor that Denitry had a secret cult underneath the basement. Students and staff who went down there always reported nothing but encouraged the others to go to prove nothing is there either. Crowley didn't know what to think of the matter, as he and his adopted daughter, Klara Crowley, went mad trying to prove Denitry is a cult leader. Irritated without his proof, Headmaster Crowley then left the school, allowing the once Professor Denitry, become the new headmaster unopposed by the staff. During that time, Klara was sent to Miskham Asylum a few months later for being a danger to Headmaster Denitry.
The party headed to Crowley Manor north of Havenwell to consult with the former headmaster. Edward told them about his ties to Tabith and how he hoped it would be both a haven for learning in general and a place to worship Tabith. However, Denitry ruined it all with his antics in the basement. Before leaving the University, he accidentally left his staff behind as it now rests in the headmaster's office in the university. Should it be returned, he promises to be of greater aid against Denitry. He also advised rescuing Klara Crowley from Miskham Asylum, as she also is part of the fight against the new headmaster.
The party began plotting their escape efforts with the Crowleys then headed off to Miskham Asylum run by the maniacal Dr. Fetzig.
Session 8
21st of Early Algid, 1725
The party reaches Miskham Asylum late at night and using documents that a tired and nihilistic Constable Kempt made, the party then used "the law" to reach Dr. Fetzig's office. However, Dr. Fetzig scoffed at the idea of releasing of Klara because paper tells him to. He then attacked the party but was defeated. His last words screamed, "I failed you, Headmaster!"
The party proceeded to rescue Klara from the Asylum. Once the Kiver stones were kicked out of place, Klara proceeded to cast Remove Curse at the party. To her relief, nothing happened. She told the party that the spell removes whatever influence Denitry has on a person. They then proceeded toward Canterport to take her to safety in Herrington, Trinidad. Before reaching their ship, Captain Restford offered the party a privateering opportunity, and the party happily accepted. Restford then mentioned about a "Capitaine Chaput" that has been a severe nuisance for the Trinian navy.
However, something big, serpentine, and with leathery wings let out a roar. It was seen hovering above the ship.
Session 9
21st of Early Algid, 1725
The party stood down from the creature, that called itself the "The Horror". It demanded that the party can either stay in Carrington or they can sail off but leave behind Johnny or Kordrus. The party peacefully chose to stay in Carrington, as Bane believed it couldn't be bested.
22nd of Early Algid, 1725
In a drunken rage, Makar stormed off to Crowley University. Hoping to cushion whatever mess would become of this endeavor, Bane manages to bring every possible Blasted Bunny member into the university.
When Makar was at the doors of the university, he personally locked the doors behind him to delay them from catching up. He then went up to peruse where Denitry could possibly be.
Bursting through the university doors, the annoyed party followed the stench of leaves and dirt into the grand library. They only found the smell and a lone student writing at a desk. George proceeded to take a shot at the student, which only enraged Bane enough to kill the bugbear outright for this action.
Upstairs on the third floor, Makar finds the headmaster's office but only three of these slender figures with subtle bulbous heads were watching over it. With a fog cloud spell, Makar bursts through the room and repels down with his 100-foot rope to the main entrance. He demanded to see Denitry himself, which the half-elf in flesh and blood appeared.
With the party hearing the ruckus out in the courtyard, they quickly stormed down the hall and are now behind Headmaster Denitry. Hoping to stop the party from returning the staff, Denitry proceeds to have his nightgaunts attack Makar while he himself tends to the Blasted Bunnies.
