Shar-Ben-Asir

Great Prince Shar-Ben-Asir

Born with the name 'Ben-Asir', he gained the prefix ''Shar', meaning 'blessed', when his father died and he took the title of Great Prince, as is tradition.

Physical Description

He is in generally good health, if a bit overweight. He's tall, broad-shouldered and barrel-chested, with light brown skin free of any scars or signs of stress. He's got a square chin hidden beneath a curly beard that's been carefully oiled and curled into ringlets and interwoven with gold thread. His eyes are starting to show the signs of laugh lines in the corners.

Clothing

As the highest-ranked living person in Tanish, he wears only the finest clothing. He dresses in robes, often bold colours like red or deep green, with coins of gold or silver along the trim. His clothing often utilizes the Spiral of Entu as a design pattern. When in public, he wears a crown of gold, shaped like a stout cylinder that narrows at his head and inlaid with a lapis gem.

Personality

Ben-Asir is a popular ruler. He frequently travels the kingdom to hear from citizens and gain the knowledge and familiarity he will need to be a just king. He is the kind of person who laughs loudly, smiles often, and always has a friendly word.   He is very dedicated to his country and his faith. Despite his public image as a jovial and carefree man, he is in fact willing to go to extreme lengths if he sees it as the greater good. He is also very used to getting his way and becomes quite upset if someone denies him something he wants.

Personal history

Ben-Asir was the first child of the previous Great Prince. He held the title of prince since birth, and grew up surrounded by luxury and splendour in the royal palace in Zedda.   He married the daughter of a prestigious noble named Zakiti when he was 20. Zakiti proved to be a shrewd negotiator of whom he was very fond, but unable to provide children. Ben-Asir frequently surrounded himself with concubines. With various concubines, he fathered several children.   His father died when he was 26 years old. He was pronounced Great Prince, and took over his father's religious duties.
