Lusano Astania

Lusano Astania is the man who founded the Kingdom of Astania in 542. He was born in the settlement that is now Torrinos to a wealthy family of Gamoenian descent. He was still in his 20s when the Satã Imperial eruption wiped out almost everything and everyone he knew.
Following the eruption, the Kingdom of Gamões declared Inferno Island cursed and relinquished any claim to it, effectively cutting its population off from any royal assistant. To the people who lost everything apart from their lives, this declaration was seen as selfish betrayal from the crown towards their loyal subjects.
Lusano saw the despair the people were in and hurried to try help them. He used all the resources he still had (including a magic flute, though he was not particularly skilled with it) to manage the community of survivors. Thanks to his efforts, at least one settlement survived the harshest years after the eruption, and Lusano gained many loyal followers. By 542, the situation in the settlement had improved considerably, and Lusano was urged to officialise his rule of the island.
Lusano was crowned king on the first day of the month of Sol, the note named after the brightest start in the sky, in hopes that his reign too would be bright and make Inferno Island shine. Lusano recreated the administrative structure of the island from scratch, appointed the most skilled people around him to the new tasks, and enjoyed massive popular approval until the end of his reign. After his death, he was succeeded by his eldest daughter, Maria Julia, who ruled during times of war and proved that competency and compassion ran in the family.
