Summer Camp 2022 Pledge

Well, it’s that time of the year again - the Summer Camp is approaching and it’s approaching fast. This will be my second Summer Camp, and since it was really fun to do last year I’m obviously excited to do it again! Last year I just missed out on really preparing for it, but here we are this year, and this is my pledge.

Homework 1

My creative goal

I’m here mainly to work on my one world - Flat Earth. I find that as much as I work on it, there still seems to be so many holes to fill and so many things to add. Many of the things I might not even think of myself. As such, this summer camp is a great way to find new ideas to write about, and push myself to think and write about things that maybe I wouldn’t have come up with on my own.

Additionally, I hope to read some interesting and inspiring articles submitted by other people as well. Though my main focus on this site is to take care of my own little world, it’s always interesting to see what other people are up to. This can always provide me with new inspiration and ideas for what I could do with my world as well.

Motivation

What really needs to be said about my motivation for this? I love my world, and I love working on it! It’s satisfying to see it grow bit by bit over time, the pieces of it falling into place and tying together into something that is kinda almost starting to make sense by now. Summer Camp will provide this extra push to think about, and work on my word more intensively through the next month. Also, I’d be lying if I said I’m not motivated by getting a new fancy badge!

Challenge Goal

Honestly, this is a bit of a tough one, and depends heavily on what the prompts will be. Considering last year when I was able to complete 20 prompts to earn a silver badge, I should be able to do the same this year. As the criteria is a bit changed this year, I should easily be able to do 16 prompts required for the silver badge, but I could push myself a bit harder for 24 prompts and the golden badge.

Of course, last year I had only created this account not long before the Summer Camp started, so I had barely any articles written by then and thus more empty spaces to fill with the Summer Camp writing prompts. This year I have much more stuff written and thought out about my world, so my only worries are the prompts where I could have written something, but already have an article on that topic. Oh well, I’ll have to work something out if this happens, maybe I'm just worrying too much.

Homework 2

Expanse

Flat Earth is a pretty big world with a lot of spaces yet to be filled. This will offer a lot of options for me to work on - it could be icy plains of Mountain area, huge cities of T@Ö#Ä3, mysterious wastelands, but what I’ve really been thinking of is a huge forested area sitting right between Fairy Gardens and Ä+*4~. Who knows what could be found in there? We’ll find out next month!

Leadership

Let’s see now here: I’ve already written some things on Gods, Fairies, and Drag Queens, but there’s still enough holes to be filled here. This might be a good time to explore and flesh out the entire hierarchy all the way from Gods down to the Family Leaders. Even the hierarchy within the single families. If possible, I might even sneak in some more details about the Black and White kings of the past.

Discovery

Somewhere between the icy plains of Mountain area, Huge forest in Fairy Gardens and even Floaty Islands floating around the main continent, there are many things to be discovered in our world.

There’s also something to be said about all of the technological achievements of our world, I might actually have to look into the thing about plants producing electricity.

Monstrous

What are the souls of the dead living in Haunted Forest up to? Is the dreaded homunculus real? What do the aliens want from us? What creature exactly are creepy hands attached to, and what else is down there in the Ocean? Are there really man eating plants in the forest of Fairy Gardens? What about woman eating plants? Do bat people really drink people’s blood? For the love of the Resplendent Glitter God, what the hell is “the stomach”? Stay tuned to find out all of this and more in the monstrous section on this year’s summer camp!

Homework 3

Mini Meta

The meta is that there is no meta. Our world is mainly driven by random stuff I dream about, music, the weird side of youtube (and internet in general tbh), games, random conversations I have with people and more, so it’s really hard to predict and pinpoint where the next perfect inspiration will come from - and I usually don't question ideas that pop into my head either.

However, as far as I can tell by the themes we have so far, a lot of them will relate back to the things we already have in our world. A lot of the holes that need to be filled will be inspired exactly by the already existing things in our world, and already written articles. Which ones exactly, we’ll see when I get some of the concrete prompts. Until then, all of this will be stored in the heavily unorganized lists of ideas, picures and files I hope I get to use in summer camp.

Homework 4

Writing Schedule

Lucky for me, I already have every day between 4-5pm set aside for writing, now with specific daily prompts I will also have a plan of what to write, so hopefully this shouldn’t be too difficult to keep up with. Of course, during weekends I should be able to have a bit more extra time to properly catch up with anything I might miss. Bonus points if I manage to keep up with finishing each article everyday, but it's fine if I don't, this is a good wholesome fun, no need to stress out about it.

Support

As for support, I don’t even know where I would begin to look for people who would possibly be interested in supporting me in this or reading about my world. It’s always a tough battle between wishing I could share my stuff more, and knowing it’s not good enough for it so as long as I can at least participate in summer camp that’s good enough for me. *thumbs up emoji*
