Fjordendale

Created by

Fjordendale is a magical-industrial city coming off the back end of its industrial revolution. The revolution was fueled by imperean crystals, a resource found in large amounts in Fjordendale which allow for the mass-production of magical enchantments. Now, 2 short years after a catastrophic accident that destroyed much of Fjordendale's industry, magic is becoming unstable in the city, but no one seems to care.   In the Northwest on the Realm of Dandaieh there is an island of shale and pine. On that island many civilizations have risen and fallen. Now, the city of Fjordendale sits atop the ruins of civilizations from ages forgotten. Deep within the mountains is a crystal known as imperean which fuels the fires of the industrial city on the surface. The largest mountain, in the center of the island, is split in two, and a fjord empties from the split into the bay. Fjordendale is built around the fjord, the fjord divides the wealthy on the craggy cliffs West of the fjord, with the common folk that live to the East. Aqueducts bring fresh water from mountain springs to the people of the city, and a canal connects the high-altitude Langhorne Lake to Toldevieve bay. To the Northeast is Monaghan, what was once the center of the rising tide of industry in Fjordendale is now a ghost town. The Monaghan stacks to the South of Monaghan, on the Eastern shore of Islingval Isle, are never-ending maze of slums, separated from the city and forced to fend for itself. The Kerambaun Industrial district is an industrial ruin, and a harsh reminder of the cost of industry most would rather forget. The Western edge of the city empties into the Singasven forest, where elven tribes have been known to roam. In the mountains of the North lay the mines, where men sacrifice their lives for the glowing imperean. The people of Fjordendale live only for their appetites and lead absurd, paradoxical existences.
