Final Beginning

Welcome to Final Beginning the Tabletop Role-Playing Game by me, Alec Ellsworth! I set out to tell a story in early 2021 that didn't fit in any one place, time, or theme. Originally intended as a book, I got lonely during the writing process and thought of how much fun it would be to experience this story with friends as a tabletop roleplaying experience. Then began the search for an rpg that fit the bill! As someone who struggles with consistent boredom and being a control freak of unhealthy proportions, no rpgs I could find could quite fit my need for drastically different settings while still giving me the tools necessary to create anything I wanted in the world as quickly and easily as possible. Eventually, I gave up the search, and made my own game.   I have designed a ton of games, mostly being video games as a software engineer, but nothing quite tickled my fancy quite like sitting around the table throwing dice and making memories. Designing a ttrpg felt like a massive creative click in my brain, I finally found a project I won't drop after a couple weeks. Two years later, I still feel like I have barely scratched the surface of what I want this game to be, but man is it fun.   I needed a game that did away with dice math, long and boring encounters, player inflexibility, setting dependance, and every single other nitpick I have about every other ttrpg I have ever played or read (which is a lot of nitpicks). The beginning of the result is what you see, Final Beginning.
