Ecology and Habitats
Found in dark, cold, rarely disturbed spaces.
Dietary Needs and Habits
The dart spider generally hibernates in its home until it feels the vibrations of an approaching food source. It will dart out of its home to bite its prey, injecting a poison which will slowly drain its victim's strength and health. The spider will then return to its hiding space to await the poison's effects before devouring its prey. These spiders eat creatures much larger than themselves, hibernating between meals to conserve energy and aid in digestion.
