Early Life
Titus K. Von Renn was born in the year 1133 to his parents, Silas, and Stella. Both half elves living in the community of Isilme (Moonlight) in the City of
Veona. It’s located on the Northeast side of the city and is little more than several buildings and businesses all owned by half elves. Titus was the first born followed by his brother Linus, his sisters Adawynn and Cleowynn. Titus’s father Silas was infatuated with adventurers and ran a curio secondhand shop. The family did fair business with heroes and adventurers both purchasing gathered items and selling refurbished and cleaned items along with the occasional potion and scroll. Rarely a magical item would come through, but they were present in the shop. Silas made a deal with a local wizard to teach Titus arcane magic, so he could become a wizard in his own time. Often as children do, they do not follow the plans set forth by parents. Titus followed his passions of painting, art, and music. He is known to sing or hum softly as he paints putting the subject(s) at ease and comfort as he paints.
Lessons in Life
Titus did learn a thing or two from his wizard master. He became fascinated with the benevolent dragons of the world. Early on it became his life’s dream to paint the portraits of dragons. He also became interested in clockworks machinations of gnomish wizards, sketching them in his spare time. He would still work for the wizard cleaning his library, learning languages and the occasional arcane factoid. He also developed a gambling habit while spending time at the tavern. He would play music, recite poetry, and sketch folks while down at the tavern. He earned a fair coin doing this and made the decision to take his art to a new level. He created the stage name of Jack Diamond. His fondness of card games and the flashy name fit perfect. Thus, Jack Diamond was born. He spent the next few years honing his skills with his favored hurdy gurdy as well as the flute and drum. His Sketches and painting were still his main passion and as luck would have it, he was commissioned to paint a local lords youngest daughters’ portrait. This painting became local famous of sorts. It was the sole surviving item from the home after it was destroyed in a fire. Often, he can be found sketching new variations or contraptions of
Arcanics. He has sketchbooks filled with them. Jack even claims to have hidden codes throughout his sketchbooks. None are sure if this is a colorful boast, or an entertaining story designed to make his work valuable to others.
Music
Music styles range widely for Titus aka Jack. His primary instrument is the hurdy-gurdy. The tunes he plays are often folk tunes of an up beat to encourage tavern crowds to sing along and drink more. He can read a crowd and deliver tunes of powerful emotional evoking chords. Dark haunting, gothic music producing a dark atmosphere for dramatic theater or story telling. Fast paced dancing music that inspires smiles and laughter among the crowds. He even plays soft tones for those who just wish a simple background music during a meal and conversation. From time to time Jack even adds the drum beat to the sounds or even switches to his flute. He almost always uses magical lighting during a bigger performance for dramatic effect. Magical orbs of differing colors floating around pulsing to the beat of the music. The hurdy-gurdy has such a wide range of sounds, from bagpipes to organ to violin the music can change from song to song. Ballads, theatrical, epic story tunes and national anthems or city tunes are often requested. Tavern owners like whet ever sells more but are rarely disappointed.
Art
Jacks art ranges from simple sketches in a book to large canvas painting. He will show off his sketch books and small paintings in other books at his musical performances. Set up on a small collapsible sheet music stand next to him as he plays. When he is performing for nobles or royalty of some sort he really pushes his art and will play music to dramatize what ever particular piece is displayed next to him. His oil paintings are finely detailed rich in color with lighting, shadow and well thought out presentations. His technical sketches and blueprints are often several pages of the same machines from various angles or close ups of different complex parts. Castles, architecture and weapons of war or sky ships can be in various forms on display; blueprints and technical drawings surround a center piece of an oil painting. He has art displayed at galleries and museums or even large guild halls or noble homes as he travels through Ferrum. His biggest desire though it to pain the portraits of dragons some day.
Present day
Jacks travels have taken him to
Rethmar on the south-central coast of northern
Ferrum filled with mechanical wonders and unusual technologies. His engineering sketches fit right in here and he learned more in the wonders of Arcanics and technology. He even learned how to use, craft and maintain firearms. After a couple of years of learning a few new skills he continued on his way around Ferrum. He presently resides in the small town of
Puggly Station playing his hurdy gurdy at a tavern,
The Dancing Chimera.
Already a nice start. I think that you could add some headers perhaps as to not create one piece of text though :) I was also wondering how he managed to learn his engineering skills such as the technomancy?
thanks. ill work on that
