Ferallii

Should an off-world explorer's shuttle coast beneath the cloud cover of this earth like planet, nothing out of ordinary might not be discerned. The forests, seas, mountains and hills would appear untouched, unblemished by signs of an advanced civilization. Truly, one would be forgiven to think that the planet was completely uninhabitated by what the galactic society would classify as inteligent life... were it not for the rings upon rings of industry, defense platforms, shipyards and power generators orbiting the planet.   The dominant lifeform - christened "ferallions" by the galactic community at large - are a proud, territorial people, their world split along ancient (and sometimes more recent) clan territory lines. With their curious and highly competitive nature these small feline humanoids had gained incredible advancements in technology in a comparatively short amount of time and are considered - with great reluctance - to be on the bleeding edge in both military and civilian technology. Their feats of engineering as well as their natural adaptation to their world, has made it possible for their technology to be integrated into their rnvironment, ensuring the ultimate in "green tech", as well as a high standard of living.   All is not well however, at least to the eye of an outside observer: With their millenial history of clan warfare, highly territorial and competitive natures and pride, ferallions are often regarded as a warlike people. Clan skirmishes are commonplace and a dagger is considered just as valid means of doing politics as rhetoric prowess. Children are taught in the ways of war and the training of the ferallion military is seen as second to none. Luckily, for now, feerallions do not seem interested in expansion...
