Hunting Parties
Because of the diverse culture of No Man’s, the land is teeming with opportunities to make a quick dollar. Cut off from the outside world, both women and men work jobs outside of the home to facilitate their minuscule economy. One of the most lucrative jobs offered is hunting, though it comes at a high cost.
Hunting in No Man's has become the term used to describe the act of killing demons, which became immediately necessary after the arrival of the Devil and severance from the outside world.
Hunting parties began to rise after the growth of Old Man Canyon, which partially isolated the southwestern side of No Man’s and left them defenseless against a rising number of demons flooding out from the badlands. Due to the time it took for inland hunters to traverse the canyon, the southwestern cities developed their own guild to entice local hunters to join. This idea eventually reached the Big Guns further inland, who repeated the technique by starting their own hunter's guild in Bardwell.
Eventually, smaller groups took up the creation of guilds and formed their own sects in neighboring towns, providing numerous opportunities for preexisting hunters and an easier, structured introduction for new ones. Some guilds attempted to go as far as claiming safer hunting trips, though this was consistently proven false.
Son, if someone's tellin' you this ain't dangerous work, he's a murderer.Hunters are highly respected members in their communities, typically given free bedding and food when traveling across No Man's alongside whatever else can be offered. To the layman, hunters are soldiers to be honored, men of utmost caliber and bravehearts of the desert. Unbeknownst to much of the population, hunters are more likened to hardened mercenaries who hunt for sport and profit. They are reckless, headstrong, vicious men, willing to kill if someone steps too far ahead of the pack.

Big Guns
The Big Guns, crediting their preexistence to the rise of guilds and numbers, host the largest hunting party to date and offer a baseline price for work. Having complete control over Bardwell, the Big Guns monopolized the town's citizens to work in favor of the guild. With the largest base of operation and offered housing for active-duty hunters, the Big Guns are notoriously antagonistic in claiming contracts before smaller guilds get the opportunity. It is rumored they want to assassinate the leader of the Deadbeats to further spread their guild east.Deadbeats
Founded in the town of Huntsville, the Deadbeats were erected after Old Man Canyon grew dramatically in size and separated Huntsville from Bardwell. Cut off from aid, Huntsville was suddenly forced to supply their own defenses, which led to the rise of Douglas Vanderholt and his Deadbeats. Due to the severity of their environment and being created in the midst of tragedy, the Deadbeats are respected for their ingenuity, speed, and subtle ferocity in protecting Hunstville and their surrounding citizens.Little Lambs
Led by the soft-spoken Lucy Lamb, the Little Lambs is the only hunting party managed solely by females. Founded in the northeastern branch of No Man's and based in the small settlement of Ridgeport, the guild was first erected as a knitting group for women seeking work and childcare. After the number of demons began to steadily increase, the guild began offering hunting work as a part of its infrastructure and were surprised by their number of applicants. Many of the men who would typically travel south for work began to remain in Ridgeport instead, eventually leading to the guild's official status as a well-respected hunting party.Whiteheads
A nomadic and highly selective hunting party whose members all boast ash-white hair from witnessing the Devil face to face. Profoundly prestigious, only those with the toughest grit are allowed entrance to the Whiteheads, most of its members possessing the highest number of successful contracts known in No Man's. They are normally seen in pairs, rarely ever traveling alone, and are primarily devoted to hunting larger, more dangerous demons.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
