Fera

Some years ago, Fera was devastated by a near-apocalyptic event, now known as the Upheaval. Enormous tectonic disruptions leveled cities, leaving deep chasms and jagged mountains in their wake, while hurricanes and tsunamis flooded the land, permanently drowning entire coastlines. Most peculiarly, the very fabric of reality seemed to come undone in some areas, unleashing wild magics upon the world and bleeding the life of the land into some unknown vacuum. Creatures of these lands found themselves mutated and driven into madness, and the refugees that poured into the surviving areas were discovered to carry these magical ailments with them. Though it was brief, the Upheaval shook Fera to its very core, leaving the survivors to reassemble a world they barely recognized. To this day, the true cause and nature of the Upheaval is still shrouded in mystery, only hinted at in rumors and wild speculation by even the most dedicated researchers.
