Stages of Content Completion
Stages of Content Completion
Most of my work at the moment is very rough and in honesty I don't have much refined writing. I own a restaurant and work full time, and have done so for a few years now. The only time I can work is during slower periods where we don't have many customers/we're paying staff to manage it. It's a big reason I haven't posted a lot of content. I've finally gotten the nerve to start submitting more of my super messy drafts and quick 'notes on the toilet' to help flesh out my world, but please don't take it to be the quality of my work. (In case you can't tell, I'm super anxious about posting all my unfinished work because it's really, really badly written as is, and it's a community of writers here! Intimidating!)
So while I'm posting all my garbage literature among the more refined stuff I'll be adding in some tags just to let you guys know where I'm at with my articles. So a big thank you for taking the time to check it out. <3
You can pretty much consider anything with a stage four tag to be completely cannon and complete, as I won't make too many changes in the last stage.

Stage One : Notes
Basically whatever I've written down in haste to keep me from forgetting ideas. Usually these are done like speed-writing sessions, not edits, no spellcheck, usually full of mistakes because my fingers hit random buttons on the phone/keyboard.Stage Two : First Draft
This is the stage where I've sat down with a bit more time to start fleshing out ideas. I still wouldn't be expecting anything in the way of 'artistic writing' since it'll still mostly be poorly edited/expanded notes.Stage Three : Clean Draft
Stage three is basically the first clean edit. I spend time rewriting all my notes completely so they are more compact, streamlined, easy to read etc then make sure all the spelling and structuring looks pretty good. It's not my finest writing by far but it's neat and coherent. I'll usually leave my work in this stage for a few weeks before I come back for the next stage. Gives me some time to really think about it and work out other content between, which will often change to accommodate new content.Stage Four : Final Draft
Usually I end up doing another full or large rewrite of my clean draft content. This is where I really put the effort into how it is presented, I spend a lot of time staring at the screen during this bit so they always take the longest. I'm awful for self-scrutiny.You can pretty much consider anything with a stage four tag to be completely cannon and complete, as I won't make too many changes in the last stage.
Stage Five : Complete
Any minor edits, grammar or spelling fixes I might have missed are fixed here. I usually let content sit as a stage four for several weeks so it feels new by the time I go back to it, and that's usually when I pick up the last of the awkwardly flowing or written content. I probably won't make any more edits after this point unless it's important to do so.

Feedback
Please, please, please don't comment on stage one/two content with critique on the writing. It drives me crazy and makes me feel super awkward when people point out obvious flaws in writing, spelling, structure when I clearly haven't edited what I'm presenting. Critique on the actual content is always, always welcome, just don't point out silly grammar errors!
