Feld

Feld is a high fantasy world that is more technologically advanced than your average medieval-themed fantasy world. Feld relies heavily on magic to power the technologies it uses, including things like televoid screens, and various modes of transport.   Feld is populated by (in order of general social standing and reputation,) Orcs, (Ogrimmar/Ogrimmi,) Humans, (Humar in Elmarian, Humi in Duemish,) Sylphs, (Sylvar/Sylvi,) Goblins, (Gogrimmar/Gogrimmi,) Dwarves, (Duemar/Duermi,) Gnomes, (Gnuemar/Gnumi,) Satyrs, (Satymar/Satymi,) and Elves, (Elmar, Elmi), as well as various other non sentient creatures such as Teppen, Moamer, Kellesk and the terrifying underground dragon wyrms that burrow deep in the mountains, the Ur 'Tyr.   Millenia ago, the Race Wars raged over the surface of Feld for almost two thousand years, with the Humans, Sylphs, Dwarves and Gnomes on one side and the armies of Orcs, Goblins and Satyrs on the other. The Elmar stayed neutral and thus became hated by both sides.Battles often 'strayed' onto Elmar lands and into their cities, none of which now remain. Eventually hostilities came to an end when the Ashen arrived on a large meteor that impacted not only the planet itself, but everyone on it.   The Ashen are a vicious race of semi-corporeal fire demons that have no agenda other than the destruction of life on the planet. This lead to the signing of a peace treaty called the Naemenari Accord, which legend says was signed in blood, although that is generally thought by modern scholars to be allegorical - signifying the millions of lives lost in both conflicts. The Ashen threat galvanised the races into fighting with, rather than against each other, in order to survive, but even then it was not enough and the Ashen were forced into a desert, which the mages contained within a magical barrier. It is the duty of every mage to keep a small piece of the barrier running at all times. Racial territories became a thing of the past and great cities sprang up at the cardinal points of the world, occupied by all races.   The great cities are run by Chancellors, aided by The Magister, the guild of mages that overseas everything, and also serves as government, administration judiciary, and policing force aided by the non magical White Knights.
