Shield: Models equipped with a shield may re-roll saves of 1.
   Heavy Shield: Models equipped with a heavy shield may re-roll all failed saves.
Shadowstave: This unit gains +2 to casting rolls if it chooses the Lore of Shadow.
Shadowtome: This unit always knows the Lore of Shadow Initiate Spell in addition to any others it knows.
 

Special Rules


Annihilate and Advance: If this unit destroys an enemy unit in the fighting phase then it may be chosen to pile-in and attack a second time.
Crewed Weapon: A weapon with this rule is treated as a model with movement of 0". It may not be targeted or dealt any damage. It may only move if 2 models from the same unit begin and end their movement within 2" of it, and it is considered to have the same movement value as those models. It may not attack in the fight phase, and may only attack in the shooting phase if 2 models from the same unit within 2" do not make their shooting attacks.
Duellist: This model may treat any weapon that does not have Large Weapon as a Light Weapon.
Flurry of Blows: For each hit roll of a 6 or more, this model may make an extra attack with the same weapon. This attack can result in more attacks through this rule.
Inspirational: Whilst a model with this rule is on the battlefield, any friendly unit may re-roll any failed bravery tests.
Large Fighter: This unit may ignore the effects of Large Weapon.
Large Weapon: A unit may not benefit from a Shield of any type whist it is equipped with a large weapon.
Light Weapon: A model equipped with two light weapons may double their attacks when attacking with one.
Magic Adept: This unit may attempt to cast spells as described in the Magic Rules.
Magic Initiate: This unit may attempt to cast spells as described in the Magic Rules.
Reach: A weapon with reach is considered to have a range of 2".
Shieldwall: Enemy ranged attacks drawn over this unit suffer -1 to hit. In addition, units may never benefit from a Charge Bonus against this unit.
Stealth: This unit may not be targeted by a unit using a ranged weapon or an ability unless this unit is the closest enemy unit.
Terrifying: Enemy units within 3" of this model must take battleshock even if they have suffered no casualties. Enemy units that have suffered casualties suffer -1 leadership.
Warlord: This unit must be your General. Your army may only ever include a single Warlord.                

Army Abilities

A Knights of Tenebrous army has access to the following army ability, and may select one of the traits from each table. The trait selected from the Major Table affects all friendly Knights of Tenebrous units, whilst the trait selected from the Minor Table only affects your General.

Knights of Tenebrous Army Ability

Any Infantry units with this ability within 3" of at least another Infantry unit with this ability gains +1 to it's saves.

Tenebrous Major Traits: Stead Icon


Name Ability
MortisEach time a friendly model is slain, roll a dice. On a 4+ that model
may make a single attack at an enemy unit in melee range.
KrakenAt the start the combat phase, roll a dice for every unit in combat,
on a 5+ select a unit within 1”. That unit may not be chosen to fight
until all other eligible units have been chosen..
TitanIf a friendly unit did not move in their movement phase or charge in
the charge phase, then until their next movement phase they add 1 to their toughness.
CarnificeOnce per turn in the combat phase, you may select an enemy unit
within melee range of one of your models. That unit suffers 2 mortal wounds.
LaniusAdd 1 AP to all attacks with melee weapons.
ApollyonAdd 6" Range and 1 AP to all attack with ranged weapons.

Tenebrous Minor Traits: Leader Power


NameAbility
Black PlateReduce the AP of any attack that target this Hero by 1, to a minimum of 0.
If the AP of an attack that damages this Hero is 0, reduce the damage
of that attack by 1 to a minimum of 1.
Expert BladesmanRe-roll all failed hit rolls for this Hero.
Roaring BellowUnits within 6" of this Hero roll two dice when testing for Leadership.
The player controlling this fighter selects which dice is used. They may
also re-roll either dice if allowed.
Superior IntellectFriendly units within 6" of this Hero may re-roll hit rolls of 1.
Precision StrikeThe damage characteristic of any weapon used by this Hero is increased to 3.
Arcane KnowledgeIf this Hero has the Magic Adept rule, they gain Loremaster.
If this Hero has the Magic Initiate rule, they replace it with Magic Adept.
If this Hero has neither Magic Adept or Magic Initiate, then it gains Magic Initiate.
