Leona

Leona Flare is a lioness who is part of a lineage of the royal Flare family that date back to the Rulers Reign era , she is the youngest with her father Leonidas Flare currently ruling Fortura/Riftera. Leonas mother died giving birth to her and so she was raised by her father and two brothers who were strict on her at times sometimes even blaming her for their mothers death. Leona is a kind and caring person who has had a somewhat normal upbringing as royalty goes, she is very educated and her caring nature blossomed from a young age when the gods empowered her with the Elements of the gods Life affinity. When the family learned of Leonas new power her father took her to a fortune teller who prophesised that her abilities would help a lot of people but especially one person in particular and began to tell a riddle " He cannot be seen, cannot be felt, Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt. He lies behind stars and under hills, And empty holes it fills. He comes first and follows after, Ends life, kills laughter.". Leona knowing not what the riddle meant at the time would use this power to help the sick and injured in battles as well as the towns folk who would become sick or need treatment that they can not pay for. The people of Fortura definitely hold her in high regard as a loving and caring royal which is gaining her the favour of the people. Leona is not someone to express herself fully due to the nature of being royalty but she has her own desires one of them wanting to travel and see the world for what it is and help those in need a long the way.
For centuries the kingdom of Fortura have hosted royal selections for royal candidates to have a chance to appeal to the kingdom to gain favour and potentially become the next ruler of Fortura/Riftera. As of now Leona is running in this election with her father currently ruling who put her forward to carry on the dynasty of their families lineage.
Not long before the election was starting an assassin was sent to kill her. The assassin was Koal who was one of the very best but he could not bring himself to kill this idol who he knew was the light of Fortura who even helped the sickly, poor but also because he was in love with her. After a while of seeing each other she reciprocated the same feelings he had towards her and they confessed their love. She wanted to win the election to be able to choose Koal to marry so she convinced him to wait on the outskirts and live a normal life.
One day she went to see him and found a note on the table in the little house she had got for him stating that he could never love her and that never wanted to see her again and left. Leona knew something was wrong noticing the house was in a bit of a mess and that something had happened here. Knowing Koals past she knew the clan he had been raised by had something to do with it a long with the so called royal that hired him to kill her.
Before Leona had anytime to react, the guards swarmed in with the Flare family who had learned of her secret relationship with Koal and took her back to the palace where she was being kept. Leona finds out more information about Koals where abouts and decides to create a moment of chaos within the palace and flees the country.
