Tandel Viraloc

Tandel Viraloc was a Viraloc Clan general and founder of the city of Viraloc. Much of his biography is lost to time, but citizens believe he was a talented and benevolent leader. He is known for having romances with several high-profile people at once.

Tandel was born an elite member of the Viraloc clan, itself a member of a larger ethnic group of humans, the (name). He had a comfortable and enriching upbringing, finding interests in poetry, weaving, and politics. Because of his interest and politics and natural talent at strategy, he was trained in the military. By his mid-late 20s he became the commander of the clan’s army. Tandel didn’t feel defending from bandits and small invasions from the Northern Territory or mitigating conflicts between clans were the limits of his army’s potential, so he soon set his sights on more ambitious goals. He heard of the land of their ancestors -- a fertile, forested land surrounded by rivers and mountains -- and how their ancestors had been ousted by (who). He looked at his clan now: getting by, but only able to live modestly due to being landlocked by much richer empires who only wished to trade with each other; infertile land; and limited water supply. He looked at the rest of his race, the other clans, who never seemed to get along anymore, despite sharing culture, appearance, and religion. Their homeland was a haven which they deserved to regain. Tandel would do just that. (he rallies the clans somehow) (he leads army and captures their homeland aka taiga river valley somehow) Once they had reclaimed the Valley and its capital city, which they now dubbed Viraloc after the clan and especially Tandel, they set out to form a new government system. Each member of the government would have equal power overall, but would have special privileges in discussions regarding a certain topic (economy, housing, military, etc.) which they would be the “leader” of. For topics they needed additional expertise on, they would summon outside citizens to serve as leader. (More detail about government can be found in the article Viraloc (city I only mention a few relevant details in this article) Tandel was summoned to the government frequently during the first couple years of the city’s rebirth. This is where most surviving records of him come from: all Tandel’s own writings (he had very many), military records, and family accounts have been lost. The majority of information in this article are things in-universe historians don’t know. I hope to write some of these records up and link them to this article in the future.
