House of Laravel (LEH-rah-vel)
This is the King of Chailara's royal bloodline, which he is trying to ensure with the marriage of one of his baseborn daughters to his heir. They are Laranians, descendants of Clan Ilara.

The family leader is the King of Chailara. The House is smaller than it had been in years past, but direct scions are princes and princesses. There are currently two princes and four princesses, all nearly direct relations of the king.

History
Clan Ilara settled in Asharqora, but they also spread out. The clan chief's bloodline, too, spread out through Chailara. Little was given specific design, but leadership has remained constant throughout the ages. The name may have changed over the years, but the House of Laravel is what remains. Inter-clan conquests and coups were attempted and a couple even succeeded, but all of them had the legitimacy of the clan chief's bloodline.
Religion
The House of Laravel follows the local religious traditions, mainly the polytheistic pantheon of gods that much of the Midlands follows. The only nod toward the Druidic Faith is the secular versions of celebrations that have been held for too many years to even consider abandoning them simply because they originated in an alternate religious practice. These are the Wheel of the Year celebrations at the solstices, equinoxes, and cross-quarter days that divide the cycle of the year.
Foreign Relations
Ties have been formed over hundreds of years with neighboring countries as well as further afield, so Chailara (and the House of Laravel) has diplomatic connections with most of the Midlands and the Lowlands. The Highland Clans tend to keep to themselves, so while connections have been made, they are nothing compared to actual treaties with Chaecrya and Chigroden or other neighboring countries.

Education
As most nobles of Chailara are, the scions of the House of Laravel are well educated for their times. Literacy is assumed, and the men of the line are well trained both physically and academically to assume power in whatever role is theirs. The women are educated as they wish past a certain point, but the curriculum is far less specific. Some choose intellectual pursuits, though their role in the House is usually to attain a suitable marriage, and most focus on the learning required to keep a noble house and lands.
The House of Laravel is strong in arcane talent, and has consolidated this over time with arranged marriages to other strong families. Every member requires arcane training, though the extent is dependent upon their desire and ability to learn. Some have become inventors of complicated magical technology that enhances the infrastructure of their country.
