Attack on Epraisia

After the failure to come to a diplomatic resolution, Feshaesia attacked Epraisia.
This is the impetus which drove King Finian to send word to Yanto P'rees (Ria's foster father), summoning the family to Asharqora, effectively kicking off Book One.

The Conflict

Prelude

Diplomacy was at least attempted. The High King of Feshaesia was hoping to annex Epraisia in his ongoing fight to unite all of the countries into a larger continental empire. His reasoning involved outsiders who haven't been seen on this continent in centuries, which, without any sort of empirical evidence, was not enough to convince the King of Epraisia to surrender his sovereignty.

Deployment

The Epraisian border defenses were on alert as soon as the talks were rumored to be going poorly, but even so, they didn't realize just how many Feshaesian troops had filtered through the southern country's border defenses already.

The Engagement

Three-pronged coordinated attack on the border, new magic was used on the Feshen side to signal the order to engage. Somehow the Feshaesians managed to hide their communications from the Epraisians, previously thought an impossibility.
  1. Feshen Northern Front, Sub-coastal Approach
  2. Feshen Northern Front, Battle Plain, led by Crown Prince Corentin himself
  3. Feshen-Neshin Conflict Zone Approach
(See latest setting sketch for borders being defended.)

Outcome

This is the end of Epraisia as a country, even if the rulers weren't captured until well after the initial wave of attack. (It took the Feshen troops six days to march across the country, cutting out dissension as they went.)

The Aftermath

With this, Feshaesia has gone to war with its first Midlands country, leaving the others amassing troops and defenses in preparation for similar events. Until this point, most of the Midlands countries were unconcerned with the goings on of the Lowlands, and nothing rated better than gossip.
