Shade House

Purpose / Function
Shade houses structures that take form in the Shadow Realm, and are designed to house the Shades that live in the realm. Every shade in the realm is assigned one, though many Elites will choose to make their home in the Tower of Shadows instead.
Architecture
The structures are varied in shape and size. Many of them resemble modern apartment towers, though warped and segmented in bizarre ways that give them an unearthly feel, like they are pulled out of surreal painting. Like much of the realm, the buildings are coated in the viscus black fluid that much of the realm is, often it seems through the cracks in the bricks and drenches the outside of the buildings.
The interior of the structure is completely coated in black blood and is very dark, lacking any furniture, windows or interior walls. In the center of a room is a Voidstone crystal ball that upon activation, will cause the room to shape shift into whatever the shade wishes. Most often, this space resembles places the shade has been in their lives, their old homes, their favorite hang out spots, or places they've visited.
The inside can shape shift to any size with out ever effecting the exterior of the building. The room can generate massive open fields if one chooses, effectively making it far large on the inside than on the outside. The only limitation is the Shade's memory of a location and their imagination. . Often more complex room choices will result in details being lost, areas being unfinished or missing elements. People cannot be recreated with the room either, if you try, they will show up as muddy, lifeless statues of a person.
Just like if a Shade heart is broken, breaking the crystal ball will cause the room to become malformed and corrupted, or even cause it to decay into black blood completely.
