Elite Shades are an advanced form of Shade that are more rare than average grunts.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Unlike Grunts, Elite Shades are given unique forms that allows them to stand out from their less powerful counterparts. Most often this will involve developing animalistic traits which grants the individual a unique set skills and abilities.
These forms are usually influenced by the shade's perception of themselves at the moment of their creation, or the skills they had already mastered. Shade's resembling lizards, cats, wolves, bats, rabbits, birds, sharks, etc all exist. As long as their body fits the typical shade mold, the possibilities are endless.
Biological Traits
Elites are far stronger than grunts, having more control over their bodies, more refined powers and more energy. Elites often have very powerful abilities specific to them, that they have spent years training. Their forms can alter their senses, allow them flight, grant them more limbs for fighting and so much more.
Creation
Elites are created when grunts absorb enough Soul essence from mortals that they bodies receive a massive upgrade. The body will shift into a new form, which can be painful if the Shade is caught off guard, as the transformation is involuntary.Social Structure
Elite shades fill an important role in the The Shadow Realm hierarchy. Due to the power they hold and the effort it takes to achieve their status, elites are admired and given special treatment. Elites are the only ones allowed to live in the Tower of Shadows and are usually promoted to high ranking positions in the The Suit of Hearts. Their status also gives them special privileges, like extended freedom to roam Earth and The Fantasme in their human forms, even while off duty. They are considered valuable to Vahit and are rarely used as fodder like the grunts are.Global Announcment
