Voidborne

It can take decades or even centuries for mortal and immortal visitors to the eldritch realm to fully become elder things. Creatures born from those in this transitional period, or born directly from unions of elder thing and a mortal or immortal being, encompass the voidborne. Voidborne are reflective of their parents as a normal offspring would be but as they grow up they could develop certain mutations or abilities completely abnormal for their race as a result of the void energies affecting their body during their growth and development. Alterations to the voidborne are not always beneficial as many are simply cosmetic while some could be considered actively detrimental. As could be expected voidborne make up significant proportions of settlements within the Eldritch Realm. Outside of the eldritch realm their odd behavior may lead to mistrust or mistreatment depending on the severity of the mutations but within the eldritch realm they are a common enough site to be regarded as normal.   The development of the voidborne is fascinating to me as a possible avenue to explore the possibilities of different types of magic being forced to interact with eachother for extended periods of time. None know the reason all these different sources of magic were split and pursuit of this study may open the avenue to making a purified magic that is a combination of all three rejoined once more! They may be looked on as mutants back home but perhaps Voidborne are simple closer to beings of pure magic than the rest of us. I think I may perhaps receive a chance to closely observe the development of a voidborne in the near future - M.N.
