Seurvi

Created from the notion of 'joy through servitude' or 'virtue of loyalty' the Seurvi are a humanoid race of elder things that live in service to another being. A Seurvi will typically find a single sentient creature they take a liking to that they become vassal to should they accept their offer. Some engage in service as a bodyguard while others act as domestic servants to their client or lord. Their appearance varies dependent upon the services the Seurvi tries to employ themselves under but all Seurvi possess four arms and their skin is a dark shade of blue, purple, pink, or some combination of these. Beyond this they possess minor shape shifting abilities they can alter themselves with to be more pleasing to the needs and preferences of their client or master. True to their nature Seurvi deprive a sense of satisfaction or fulfillment when they manage to accomplish tasks and duties set upon them by a liege or overlord and in some communities having a Seurvi vassal can be seen as quite the treasure and symbol of prestige within the eldritch realm. They posses a strong instinct that compels them to act as vassals to another but Seurvi are fully sentient and each has their own criteria for their loyalty and service and will leave should their current master or client fall too far from these criteria.   I have come to develop a theory about the Seurvi. With the understanding the Eldritch Realm occupies the same space as the mortal realm and eldritch beings are all around the mortals at any time just...invisible to them, it is not too far fetched to think that the invisible helpers called upon in the ever popular 'unseen servants' spell is really a ritual that unbeknownst to the caster gives a command to a nearby Seurvi. I would need to do far more research to confirm this but I take it I will have plenty of opportunity to given that it seems one such Seurvi has taken an...affinity for me. We have yet to come to understand each others languages but they follow me around everywhere I travel and seems to dote on me somewhat providing, meals or refreshment on occasion and tidying my notes when I am not looking. I can't help but wonder if I have a wife now as it certainly feels it at times. - M.N.     Addendum - I definitely have a wife now.
